The Carpathia Health Plan Aims for Lower Costs and Full Access
Neptune, NJ – March 2, 2018 — The issue of healthcare and healthcare costs in the U.S. remains a constant concern for the American public. A recent Pew Research Survey shows that health care is one of the top issues for U.S. adults, with a sizable majority of Americans favoring some type of guaranteed level of health care coverage.
In his new book, The Carpathia Health Plan, New Jersey physician Robert Dennis addresses these concerns by proposing an innovative concept in healthcare delivery that relies on the free market system to achieve dramatically lower health care costs and full access to care.
Dr. Dennis presents his approach in the backdrop of six primary stakeholders that support the healthcare delivery system. The Carpathia Health Plan involves making fundamental changes to the way the existing system works, including giving healthcare consumers the ability to evaluate and make decisions about their own elective healthcare and providing access to transparent fees for providers, services and procedures. The plan also calls for universal coverage for urgent and catastrophic care.
“In selecting a name for my plan, I was inspired by the RMS Carpathia, the only ship that responded to the Titanic’s distress call and saved 705 otherwise doomed passengers,” the author said. “Our current healthcare system is sinking. Like the RMS Carpathia, the blueprint I’ve created aims to take swift and immediate action to reach the healthcare consumers who are being stranded by the current system,” Dr. Dennis said.
